I'm on the @alexsyberiadesigns blog today with another card inspiration featuring the @teamspellbinders 'Spring in Kyoto' designed by Alex Syberia Designs, which I combine with previous collections. Alex Syberia Designs and Spellbinders products: Kokeshi dolls die set Floral fans embossing folder Alex Syberia Designs products: Chic roses layering die set Avian allure stamp set Avian allure die set Nested scalloped frames die set To create this card, I started with die cutting the kokeshi doll from various colors and types of cardstock. My starting point for this project was a pad of small origami sheets that I've had in my stash for years. And I used one sheet for the kimono and let it inspire the colors of the shaker. Because the origami sheets are rather thin, I doubled the kimono with a layer of white cardstock underneath. I picked regular cardstock, choosing colors that were repeated on the kimono. It's again that time of the year, I'm celebrating a co-worker and friend's birthday. Her passion is sewing so, with the timely new @waffleflowercrafts release, I couldn't resist lighting up another sewing machine, just like last year. For this project, I used the @pearblossompress One light from the Halo light Combo pack. It was super easy to add the light to this card: no wire and the perfect distance between the light and switch for this sewing machine. You know I love to mix florals with critters and I think this one turned out really cute. I used the @alexsyberiadesigns Hoppy Easter set, which you can also use all year round, and the Tulips in bloom set. For the background, I used the Chevron chic cover die. I used the coordinating dies and then trimmed 3 of them at an angle to place in 3 of the corners of my card panel. I also stamped and die cut the bow from the set. I colored the images with Copic markers.  I also stamped the cute bunnies, colored them with Copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I stamped the sentiment with black ink on white cardstock, from the Tulips in bloom set, and used the coordinating die. I was literally obsessed with these cute @lalalandcrafts ducks from the April kit. I mean, aren't they cute? I've become a huge fan of La-La Land Crafts critters lately but promised myself to be reasonable, so I had to skip this kit. But, last week, I got happy mail from my friend Sam who sent me these cuties. I couldn't feel any happier! Thanks so much, Sam! I didn't have a matching bathtub, and since I am not a good drawer, I decided to take some inspiration from the Web, using existing images which I sized and printed. I then used a light pad to replicate the images on my card background.  You can watch my reel to see the full process.
