Smile more (penguins)
Stay cozy (sentiment)
Garden of blooms stencil
Falala friends (beanie)
Foxtrot alphabet die
Falling snow stencil
Distress
oxides: Tumbled glass, Salty ocean, Blueprint sketch, Squeezed
lemonade, Wild honey, Old paper, Peacock feathers, Lucky clover
To
create this card, I started by stamping the penguins from the Smile
more stamp set, with Black tuxedo Memento ink. Also stamped some
accessories, using the slippers from the same set and beanie from the
Falala friends stamp set. I masked all images with masking paper.
I then stenciled the Garden of blooms in the background with Distress oxides from Ranger:
Stencil 1: Tumbled glass and a bit of shading with Salty ocean
Stencil 2: Salty ocean
Stencil 3: Blueprint sketch
Stencil 4: Squeezed lemonade and Wild honey
Stencil 5: Old paper and a bit of shading with Peacock feathers
Stencil 6: Peacock feathers
Stencil 7: Lucky clover
The background resulting a bit more vivid and vibrant than I had hoped so to soften it a little, I decided to create a bokeh effect, using the Falling snow stencil with white pigment ink. I also splattered white gouache diluted with a few water drops.
I let the panel dry and then unmasked the penguins.
I colored the images with Copic markers:
E42, E41, E40, W00 and 0 for the penguins faces and bell, W7, W5 and W3 for their feathers, YR24 and Y21 for their beaks and paws, RV11 and E000 for the cheeks, YR24, YR21, Y21 and Y11 for the beanies, W5, W3 and W1 for the beanie pompoms, W3, W1 and W00 for the slippers, RV11 and E000 for the slipper bunny ears.
I glued the panel onto the cardbase with liquid adhesive.
For the sentiment, I used the Foxtrot alphabet die set and die cut the letters to form the words Warm wishes twice, from white glitter cardstock and blue cardstock to match the background. Using a ruler, I glued the blue letters with liquid adhesive, using the ruler to align the letters from the bottom. I then glued the glitter letters on top of the blue ones, offsetting them slightly to the left and top. This allows to have a shadow with the blue letters.
To finish the card, I stamped the small Warm wishes sentiment from the Stay cozy stamp set and used the coordinating dies. I then adhered the sentment between the two rows of the bigger sentiment, with thin strips of foam tape.
