For this butterfly shaker, I used the @alexsyberiadesigns Butterfly bliss die set along other goodies. I wanted to stretch the use of the Butterfly bliss die and give it a simple look.
Alex Syberia Design products:
Butterfly bliss die set, Essential sentiments press plate and die, Peony blossoms press plate and die, and Meadow magic cover die
To create this card, I started by die cutting a panel of Spellbinders Chiffon cardstock with the Meadow magic cover die. I then placed the 4 wings of the Butterfly bliss die set on the panel, taped one and ran it through my die cutting machine. I repeated this step for each of the 3 other wings, making sure to align on the previous one, to get a full cut.
I then cut a panel, slightly smaller, from Spellbinders Bellini cardstock for the background. I stamped the Peony blossoms press plate onto that panel, with Spellbinders BetterPress Azalea ink, making sure to display the plate at an angle to nicely show through the butterfly opening of the front panel.
I adhered a piece of acetate at the back of the Meadow magic panel, with double-sided adhesive. I then added thick foam tape. I poured some iridescent diamond rhinestones in the shaker and closed it with the Peony background, making sure to present it facing down and with the right stamped angle.
I then trimmed any excess from the background panel and adhered the shaker onto the cardbase.
To finish the butterfly, I die cut the butterfly antennae from Sizzix Rose Surfacez glitter cardstock and adhered it with liquid adhesive on the front panel.
I then stamped the Essential sentiments press plate onto the same Bellini cardstock used in the background, with BetterPress Black ink, and used the coordinating die to cut out all sentiments at once. I added thin foam tape at the back of the Hello sentiment and adhered it on the butterfly.
Hope you liked this CAS version of the Butterfly bliss die set and it inspires you to create your own version.
