Our first Craftroomers hop of the year just started on Instagram. Come hop along with us for a chance to win a handmade card and the opportunity to join us on our next hop!
As usual, we are exploring each season every quarter and this year, we are adding another exciting theme. This quarter, we're all about Easter and Spring, but also Fairy tales and Fantasy!
For my project, I chose the Fantasy and Fairy tale with an Alice in Wonderland card.
Products:
Wonder Anya (The Greeting Farm)
Wonderland (CC Designs)
Enchanted bottles (The Sassy Club)
Happily ever after (Clearly Besotted)
Vault watch gears dies (Sizzix)
Reflections Isaiah 40 die (Papertrey Ink)
Pretty postmarks (The Greetery)
Wonderland paper pack and Side daisy die (La-La Land Crafts)
Ranger Distress Oxides: Speckled egg, Salty ocean
I started by stamping the images with a little masking, using Whimsy Stamps No-fuss masking sheets. I started by stamping the open book from the Clearly Besotted Happily ever after set. I then stamped the cat from the Wonderland set from CC Designs. Next, I used Wonder Anya from The Greeting Farm to stamp Alice. And finally, I stamped the potion bottle and label from The Sassy Club. For the sentiment, With love, I used the Pretty Postmarks from The Greetery.
I fussy cut the stamped scene and colored it with Copic markers.
I then worked on the background, using the Wonderland paper pack from La-La Land Crafts. I picked two different papers, one which I trimmed down to 4 by 5.3 inches. I then created an opening in the center with the Reflections Isaiah 40 die from Papertrey Ink. I layered the frame on top of another paper trimmed to the same size and used thin foam tape to layer the two panels. I then glued them onto the cardbase.
I then worked on the watch, using the Vault watch gears die set from Sizzix which I die cut from white cardstock. I assembled all the frame elements with liquid adhesive. For the background of the watch, I used another sheet from the La-La Land Crafts Wonderland pack. On the watch frame, I blended Ranger Distress Oxide Speckled egg and a few touches of Salty ocean. I then dabbed Versamark ink on the frame and poured Distress glaze Speckled egg which I heat set with my heat gun. I repeated this process a couple times to get a very thick enamel look. I also used Distress glaze Broken China and Vintage photo to add a little more interest. I then glued the frame onto the Wonderland paper.
I also die cut the Side daisy from La-La Land Crafts from white cardstock and blended Ranger Distress Oxides with Tattered rose, Kitsch flamingo and Picked raspberry for the petals, and Twisted Citron and Rustic wilderness for the stems and leaves. I assembled the flowers with liquid adhesive and adhered them on the top left corner of the card, with liquid adhesive.
I also adhered the watch on the other corner with liquid adhesive and finally adhered the stamped scene with thin foam tape over the clock and thicker foam tape for areas in contact with the harlequin background.
