Today, I have another album to share!
I've been collecting the beautiful @sweetnovemberstamps mermaid cuties for the past two years and as I was ready to finally use them, I just couldn't decide which I should use and which not (Same reason I bought so many!). They all are soooo cute. So then, I thought an album would be the best way to finally use all of them.
More details below about each page
Front and Back Cover pages
The front and back covers were die cut from white cardstock with the Studiolight submarine die set. I then inked the body parts with Distress oxides Squeezed lemonade and then sprayed Distress oxides Squeezed lemonade, Salvaged patina and Fossilized amber for the body. For the metal elements of the submarine, I used Distress oxides Pumice stone and Vintage photo, as well as Distress mica Brushed pewter.
As I wanted to get a rusty look on the metal parts, once dry, I also dabbed more Distress oxide Vintage photo with a brush and as it wasn't enough, I came back later on with an orange pencil
The sentiment is from the Sweet November Stamps Journey stamp set.
I die cut the submarine 4 times, 2 for the front cover and 2 other for the back cover, glued back to back. However, for the front cover, I only used the body of the submarine and not the periscope and tail, so that it would still be possible to turn pages. Note that I used the back side of the submarine parts, to get a reverse image of the submarine at the back of each cover page
To create the inner pages, I used the submarine body die cut as a template to hand draw the shape on cardstock and then used scissors to cut them out. Inner pages are glued back to back. I used scissors to trim the edges sticking out.
The covers and all pages were protected with Distress glaze. In addition to protecting the project, Distress glaze also allows for distress oxide inks to appear less chalky and more vibrant. For this project, I really love how the blues and yellows pop.
The album holds together thanks to 2 binder rings. I used my We R Memory keepers Crop-A-Dile multi punch to punch 2 holes on each page
3 mermaids
For that first page, I stamped the 3 mermaids strategically through the submarine portholes, so that their faces are visible from outside the submarine. I used the Sweet November Stamps Merwees #2 and #3 stamps sets. In the background, like for all other underwater pages, I blended Distress oxides Salvaged patina, Salty ocean and Uncharted mariner.
Message in a bottle
For this page, I used the mermaid from the Sweet November Stamps Journey stamp. The large bottle and Message in a bottle sentiment are from the Message in a bottle stamp set from Honeybee stamps.
The smaller bottle and smaller sentiment are from the Heffy Doodle You go gull stamp set.
In the background, like for all other underwater pages, I blended
Distress oxides Salvaged patina, Salty ocean and Uncharted mariner. The silhouette background details are from the Trinity Stamps Sea life silhouettes, My Favorite Things Mermazing and Avery Elle Underwater background builder sets. These were stamped with Distress oxides Salty ocean and Chipped sapphire.
Octopi hugs
For this page, I used the Sweet November Stamps Aquata mermaid and Whimsy Stamps Octopi guys. I just love how happy this double page looks. It makes me want to giggle with them!
The sentiment is from the Under the sea stamp set from Joy Crafts.
In the background, like for all other underwater pages, I blended Distress oxides Salvaged patina, Salty ocean and Uncharted mariner. The silhouette background details are from the Marianne Designs Coral set. These were stamped with Distress oxides Salty ocean and Chipped sapphire.
I'm so jelly
For this page, I used the Sweet November Stamps Marilla mermaid and jelly fish.
The sentiments are from the Pink and Main Be a mermaid and Subbin in from Essential by Ellen sets.
In the background, like for all other underwater pages, I blended Distress oxides Salvaged patina, Salty ocean and Uncharted mariner. The silhouette background details are from the Marianne Designs Coral set. These were stamped with Distress oxides Salty ocean and Chipped sapphire.
You're otterly cute
For this page, I used the Sweet November Stamps Sealia mermaid. As the little seal she holds also makes me think of an otter, I decided to pair it with the Otter set from CC Designs, using one of the cute otters as well as the sentiment. I also added a submarine from the Clearly Besotted Dive right in stamp set.
In the background, like for all other underwater pages, I blended Distress oxides Salvaged patina, Salty ocean and Uncharted mariner. The silhouette background details are from the Trinity Stamps Sea life silhouettes, My Favorite Things Mermazing and Avery Elle Underwater background builder sets. These were stamped with Distress oxides Salty ocean and Chipped sapphire.
You're a pearl
For this page, I used the Nautalie mermaid and gorgeous shell from the Horizon lines: Under the sea set. The little girl on the beach is from The Shore set by The Rabbit Hole. The sentiment is from the Mermaid for each other set from My Favorite Things
For the cloudy sky, I used the Cloud stencil from My Favorite Things with Distress ink Salty ocean. The sand was done with Distress oxide Tea-dye. I added details to the sea with a white gel pen and on the sand with Copic markers and a brown copic liner.
In the background, like for all other underwater pages, I blended Distress oxides Salvaged patina, Salty ocean and Uncharted mariner. The silhouette background details are from the Trinity Stamps Sea life silhouettes, My Favorite Things Mermazing and the Marianne Designs Coral sets. These were stamped with Distress oxides Salty ocean and Chipped sapphire.
You're a treasure
For this page, I used the Sweet November Stamps Bonnie mermaid, as well as the Simple room: Pirate add-on set for the treasure. The wood wreck is from the Whimsy Stamps Lookin' shark elements set, but I extended it at the top and bottom to occupy the entire page height, completing the drawing with a black copic liner.
The submarine is from the Lawn Fawn You are sublime set and the sentiment from the Paperie ink Mermaid kisses set.
In the background, like for all other underwater pages, I blended Distress oxides Salvaged patina, Salty ocean and Uncharted mariner. The silhouette background details are from the My Favorite Things Mermazing and Avery Elle Underwater background builder sets. These were stamped with Distress oxides Salty ocean and Chipped sapphire.
Back cover
For the last page, I used the Subbin in stamp set from Essentials by Ellen. Just like the front cover, I positionned them so they would peek out of the portholes. But because I needed this page to still look nice when looked at from upside down, while turning the page or looking at the closed album, having an octopus and jelly fish swimming either ways was just perfect for this page!
In the background, like for all other underwater pages, I blended Distress oxides Salvaged patina, Salty ocean and Uncharted mariner.
