I made this card about 3 weeks ago, in the midst of our 5th heat wave, which was 3 past our last hottest Summers. I wasn't quite ready for Fall and Halloween cards back then, but with the Summer break way behind now, something wicked and fun coming our way is the best that could happen! So I'm kicking off Fall using the Fall gathering clear stamp from @sweetnovemberstamps which I got last year but wasn't able to use before Fall ended. For this card, I mixed some Spellbinders dies from last year with new products from Simon Says Stamps, Waffle Flower and The Greetery. I heat set the raincoat with 3 layers of clear embossing powder to give it a plastic shine and for the buttons as well as all eyes, I used Trinity Stamps embellishments. This year, I managed to make quite a few projects using my newbies before the season was over, mixing with products from past years. I realized this is what I like best as it is very satisfying to be able to use the goodies right away, but also comforting to finally use my stash. I realized I haven't made a lot of ice cream cards this Summer. This is usually a theme I like to explore. Ice cream is my excuse when the weather gets too hot, and let's face it, there have been plenty of opportunities this Summer... though watermelon has also been a good and better friend this Summer, because let's admit that ice creams are not actually refreshing (either too sweet or too rich), but they definitely taste like heaven! I made an interactive card, using a set from @janesdoodles, with a pullup feature. I realized when editing the photos that I actually did the background wrong, using the wrong side of the cloud stencil. By chance, it is fairly hidden. I put the blame on that insanely hot weather. A quick card with these cute @lesiazgharda_stamps. I even used a background I had created for another card a few weeks ago, before deciding on going with lighter colors. The dark blues seemed really appropriate for this card and I'm glad I saved that background and could use it here. I don't usually save anything from my cardmaking process and I rarely create spare pieces. Summer isn't over yet and I'm taking you on a road trip with this sweet lady with her pink van and her adorable kitties. These adorable images are from @Craftystampco. I also used one of their pattern paper packs for the background. They have an amazing choice of papers which can be stamped and are Copic-friendly. What I particularly love about them is that they come with a plastic sleeve to store them and keep them organized. Each pack contains 24 double-sided sheets with 4 sheets of each pattern which gives plenty of possibilities to use your preferred patterns without missing out (I'm sure paper hoarders understand what I mean when you have only one or two sheets of a beautiful paper and don't dare to use it!)
