Resting isn't lazy

Do you like reading a book to relax and rest? Cardmaking eats up most of my free time these last years, so I don't read as much as I used to or as I would like, unfortunately.
For this card, I used the new Smile more stamp set and hand-drew the books at the back, using several sets to create the books titles.

Smile more (Critters, side-table and Resting isn't lazy sentiment)
Sweet friend (You are amazing and You warm my heart sentiments)
Smile and wave (The stars are the limit and Just smile sentiments)

Distress oxide: Scattered straw
Distress inks: Vintage photo and Walnut stain

To create this card, I started by stamping the critters and side-table on my panel. I also stamped them on masking paper.
I then hand-drew all the books.

To mask the hand-drawn images, I used a little trick we all learnt as kids, but then probably all forgot about it. I used vellum to reproduce the images. Next, I flipped the vellum and drew over the lines at the back with a pencil. I flipped again the vellum and then placed it over masking paper. Using a pencil again, I pressed over the lines to print the lines onto the masking paper. A very simple way to reproduce simple shapes. I then adhered the masks and blended Distress oxide Scattered straw in the background. I then blended Distress inks Vintage photo and Walnut stain on the edges, to give the illusion that the background is an old page.

I then unmasked all the images and stamped the titles. I colored the images with Copic markers and finally adhered the panel onto the cardbase.
