I have a couple cards with the best gingerbread men ever, from @whimsystamps and @drawn.by.krista. These cuties stole my heart a couple years ago. Their happiness is so contagious!
Hot cocoa:
Cookies for Santa (Whimsy Stamps)
Baking sheet (La-La Land Crafts)
Homemade with love (Honeybee Stamps)
Winter mug, Holiday mug additions, Fall mug additions and Valentine mug additions (Pretty Pink Posh)
Cracked embossing folder (Sizzix / Tim Holtz)
For this card, I started with the background panel, using white cardstock. I blended Distress oxide Frayed burlap and ran it through my die cutting machine with the Cracked embossing folder from Sizzix and Tim Holtz. I then dabbed Distress oxide Vintage photo and Ground espresso, directly from the pad onto the panel.
Next, I die cut the baking sheet with the La-La Land die from white cardstock. I blended Lost shadow and dabbed Weathered wood and Iced spruce. I then stamped the Hot cocoa sentiment from the Honebee stamps Homemade with love stamp set, with Hickory smoke.
I then die cut all the decorative elements behind the gingerbread man from white cardstock, using several die sets from Pretty Pink Posh:
- The Cinnamon stick from the Fall mug additions onto which I blended Distress oxide Frayed burlap and then dabbed Vintage photo and Ground espresso
- The greenery from the Holiday mug additions onto which I blended Twisted citron and Rustic wilderness
- The candies from the Holiday mug additions for which I blended Candied apple on the swirl
- The marshmallows from the Fall mug additions onto which I blended Scattered straw and Tea-dye on the top right corner
- The spoon from the Valentine mug additions onto which I blended Lost shadow and shades of Weathered wood
- The candy cane from the Winter mug die set for which I blended Candied apple on the base
I then assembled all pieces with liquid adhesive.
Next, I stamped the gingerbread man onto white cardstock with Tsukineko Memento Black Tuxedo ink and colored the images with Copic markers:
- E47, E57, E35, E55, E31 and E41 for the gingerbread man,
- E77, E74 and E71 for the hot cocoa,
- RV11, RV13 and RV34 for the cheeks and tongue,
- E43, E42, E41 for sugar details on the cookies and the mug,
- W4, W3, W2, W1 and W00 for the pompom and beanie base
- R39, R46, R35 and R22 for the bow, beanie and letters on the mug
I fussy cut the image.
To assemble the card, I added foam tape at the back of the background panel and adhered it onto the cardbase. I then added foam tape at the back of the baking sheet and adhered it on the backgroud panel.
I then glued all the decorative pieces (greenery, candy cane and cinammon stick) at the back of the gingerbread man. I also glued the spoon over the mug. Finally, I adhered the candies and marshmallows onto the baking sheet with liquid adhesive and foam tape, and glued the mug over it.
Distress oxides: Lost shadow, Weathered wood, Iced spruce, Hickory smoke, Frayed burlap, Vintage photo, Ground espresso, Candied apple, Scattered straw, Twisted citron, Old paper and Rustic wilderness
Gingerbread cookies recipe:
Gingerbread fun (Whimsy Stamps)
Homemade with love and Cookie sheet, Wood plank embossing folder and Rustic brick wall embossing folder (Honeybee Stamps)
Ribbon frame die and stencil (The Greetery)
For this card, I started with the background panel, using white cardstock. I used the Honeybee stamps Rustic brick wall embossing folder. I sprayed water over the panel to minimize paper cracks, inserted it in the folder and ran it through my die cutting machine. I then dabbed Distress oxides Scattered straw and Tea-dye to add some shading to the raised bricks.
For the wood table, I used a smaller piece of white cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine with the Honeybee stamps Wood plank embossing folder. I then blended Distress oxide Tea-dye with a brush over the entire panel, and then dabbed Vintage photo directly with the pad onto the cardstock to ink only the raised parts. With a lighter hand, I then dabbed Ground espresso.
Next, I die cut the wood board from the Homemade with love set. I blended Distress oxide Tea-dye and Vintage photo around the edges. I then stamped the wood veins with Vintage photo and recipe with Ground espresso.
Next, I die cut the ribbon frame from The Greetery die, from white cardstock, blended Distress oxide Festive berries and then Fired brick trough the coordinating stencil.
I die cut the cookie spatula from the Honeybee stamps Baking sheet die set, from white cardstock and blended Distress oxide Lost shadow and did some shading with Weathered wood. I die cut a second spatula from Lawn Fawn Black liquorice cardstock and trimmed it to keep only the handle which I glued on the other spatula.
I then stamped the two cute gingerbread men from the Whimsy Stamps set with Tsukineko Memento Black Tuxedo ink onto white cardstock and colored the images with Copic markers:
- E47, E57, E35, E55, E31 and E41 for the cookies,
- E79, E77 and E74 for the chocolate chips,
- RV11, RV13 and RV34 for the cheeks and tongue,
- E43, E42, E41 for sugar details on the cookies and candy canes,
- W4, W3, W2, W1 and W00 for the pompoms and beanie base
- R39, R46, R35 and R22 for the scarves, beanies and candy canes
I fussy cut the images.
To assemble the background, I flattened the brick wall on the bottom part of the panel to adhere the wood planks with liquid adhesive. I then added foam tape at the back and adhered the panel onto the cardbase.
I glued the wood board and ribbon over it. Next, I adhered the spatula with foam tape behind the spatula and handle, and liquid adhesive on the long part. Finally, I adhered the gingerbread men with foam tape.
Distress oxides: Scattered straw, Tea-dye, Festive berries, Fired brick, Vintage photo, Ground espresso, Walnut stain, Lost shadow and Weathered wood
