Hog happy day
Whimsy blooms bouquet
Tiny hearts cover die
Beautiful day
Nested scalloped frames
To create this card, I first die cut the Whimsy blooms bouquet from different shades of green and pink cardstock. I then did a little shading with Copic markers.
I assembled the flowers and adhered them with liquid adhesive on the stem.
Next, I die cut the Tiny hearts cover die from white cardstock and the background panel from dark pink cardstock, using the largest rectangle die from the Nested scalloped frames die set.
I glued the tiny hearts panel onto the dark pink panel and then adhered the panel onto the cardbase. I then glued each element of the Whimsy blooms bouquet.
On white cardstock, I stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful day stamp set. As much as I love masking, I find masking sentiments a bit tedious and messy at times, so I never hesitate to pull my scissors to isolate pieces of a sentiment. I find this makes them so much more versatile. In the case of this sentiment, you could imagine using the top line with a die cut love. Here, I wanted to use two different colors to emphasize the word love. So I first stamped the top line with Memento Tuxedo black ink. Then, on the door of my stamping press, I placed the second line, making sure to follow the cutting line between the two parts. I then removed the top line stamp and stamped the love word with Memento Rose bud ink.
I also stamped the two piggies and colored them with Copic markers. I then die cut the sentiment with the Beautiful day coordinating dies and the piggies with the Hog happy day coordinating dies.
I glued the sentiment above the whimsy blooms with liquid adhesive, and the piggies on each side, with foam tape.
