Hope or fear

Do you remember this gorgeous collection from Kris Lauren @pretty.little.lines and @coloradocraftcompany with these cute little mice? I had almost forgotten about them and for sure, didn't give them enough love when they were released... and I find they pair nicely with this kitty from the more recent Bake me happy set

Products
Daffodil mice, Flower pot, Bake me happy, This is the life, Tea cups & mice (Colorado Craft Company)
Sprinkles (Penny Black)
Green Green Grass stencil (Clearly Besotted)
Brick wall stencil (Unknown brand)

Ranger Distress oxides: Lost shadow, Saltwater taffy, Fired brick, Vintage photo, Twisted citron and Rustic wilderness

To stamp this one layer card, I did some masking using the No-fuss masking sheets from Whimsy Stamps. As usual, I stamped the front image first, on both my panel and masking paper. I fussy cut the images and adhered them to my panel before stamping the next images.

I started with the cute little mouse in the center, then the one on the pot and the one behind the sprinkler. I then stamped the pot and the kitty, then the kitty and the right tulip. Then the left tulip and the sprinkler.

I chose the Green Green Grass stencil from Clearly Besotted, as it has two edges, one positive and one negative, allowing to blend the grass and mask it with the other edge. I placed the Green Green Grass stencil from Clearly Besotted in the last third of the card to mask off the grass and blended Ranger Distress oxide Lost shadow in the upper part. I then placed my brick wall stencil and blended Saltwater taffy through it as a first layer, and then Fired brick. Layering two colors is a way to keep the blending light and I knew I would have to stamp my sentiment on the wall.

Finally, I also blended some Vintage photo in random spots to give the wall a bit more interest.

I then removed the stencil and inverted the Grass stencil to mask off the wall and blend the grass. I used a mix of Twisted citron and Rustic wilderness. I then moved the stencil to use the two central parts of the stencil which have taller grass borders and blended that color combo multiple times to create different layers and heights of grass, against the wall, above my initial grass line.

I then removed the stencil and masks and stamped the sentiment with black ink. I colored the images with Copic markers:

Stems and moss: G29, G46, YG23 and YG01
Tulips and Kitty bow: R39, R29, R22 and E50
Mice: W4, W3, W2, W1, W0, W00 (fur) / RV000, E000, E0000 (ears) / RV34, RV11 (cheeks and muzzle)

Cat: E42, E41, E40 + W3, W5 (fur) / RV000, E000, E0000 (ears) / BG70, BG10 (glasses) / RV22, E35 (muzzle)
