I have one more inspiration card with the new 3 in 1 Mitered Frames die set from @whimsystamps, moving away from the artsy theme and not letting Christmas in July end without my little contribution! Hello Crafty friends! Today I have this this watercolored Penelope's Garden. I've said it before, I'm in love with this XXL stamp. The flowers are just so beautiful and easy to color. I had already done a watercolored version with Karin markers. This time I wanted to try with chalky and muted colors, using Distress oxides. I really love this vintage look! The idea of the watercoloring in this card is to have a loose style, very imperfect, leaving some unpainted areas on the edges of each petal and leaf, and creating visible layers of colors.  So, good news! If you are a beginner in watercoloring like I am, this is probably the easiest way to watercolor. My tip is to  use very little water. Your brush needs to be wet, not soaked. And don't try to blend or soften colors with a clean brush. Instead, try to use less color and start from the base of the petals towards the edge. By the time you get to the edge, your brush should have very little color left and you shouldn'

Here comes another onelayer card. I knew I wanted to feature some @clearlybesotted underwater creatures with the @carlacreaties octopus, but I was initially going for one of the new sets. But I also wanted to have that wreck ship and finally decided to stick with the entire Dive right in stamp set.  I know I said the Ice cream card was one of my Top 5 preferred cards, but I think I could say the same for this one, and maybe even in my Top 3. When I look back at similar cards made last Summer, I can see the small progresses and that makes me super happy. Hello Crafty Friends, Today I have a refreshing shaker card featuring the Pool party set. This set is really awesome and there are so many characters to pick from! I love that you can make so many different cards with the same set To start, I cut my front panel from white cardstock, 5.7" x 4". I also cut another panel slightly smaller to create the background I die cut the pool outline from the largest front panel, thus creating an opening. I placed my largest front panel over the smaller one in my stamping press, to use the opening as a guide to position the pool stamp. I removed my front panel and stamped the pool image on the background. I also stamped the pool image on masking paper. With scissors, I fussy cut the inside of the pool from the masking paper and adhered it to my  background. With the My Favorite Things Perfect Pool Water Stencil, I blended some Distress ink Salty ocean in the pool, twice, using different parts of the stencil to create several layers of water

Today, the last mini release of the month is going out @whimsystamps and it's all about art, with some amazing plaint splatters background, brush stroke stamps, a must-have die set of frames, a gorgeous artist palette die set and the cute Dudley character making art! Today, I get to showcase the new Paint splatters background, which I stamped with Versamark twice and heat embossed with two different powders. I then used the Cutie ABC die set to create an arty message which I took from one of the sets released this week. And voila, 2 cards out of 1! Life is better at the beach! And it's even better with a bigger ice cream!!! Can't blame the kiddos for wanting a bigger ice cream, with the heat wave hitting Europe, we'll need a lot of ice cream (I'll need lots!!) I love fireflies!!! I like the idea that they glow but if they are as cute as @pinkandmain fireflies, I just melt! I'm not in my comfort zone when it comes to interactive cards, but as I got to make a few lately, it gave me a little appetite for more... and I've only made one light up card in my entire life before, so I thought that would be great to bring light to these fireflies. Today I have another card inspiration with the new Otter Variety 2 stamp set from @whimsystamps I'd been wanting to make rainbow clouds for a while and I thought a slimline card would be the perfect format for that. The sentiments on the Otter Variety 2 stamp set are really great and I thought this one would work well with a whole bunch of otters! Hello Crafty Friends, Today, I have a slimline shaker card featuring the new Birthday bears stamp set, as well as the Flamin' birthday stamp set. I also used the Part time stencil in the background   To start, I cut my front panel from card stock and stamped all the images using the masking technique. I also masked all stamped images, even those at the front, to be able to blend some distress inks I also added a line of masking tape to create the ground and blended some Distress oxide Antique linen. I then removed the masking tape and placed over the ground With the Party time stencil, I blended Distress inks, Mustard seed, Peacock feather and Kitsch Flamingo I unmasked all images and stamped th sentiment.  I then colored the images with Copic markers and added some highlights with a white gel pen. Using a frame die, I die cut 6 frames to create the shaker front. Using glue, I assembled 5 of the frames, then glued acetate on top and added the last frame on top of the acetate. I the

The latest release from @whimsystamps just hit the store today! Today's project features 3 of the new products.  The first one are those cute adorable otters from the Otter Variety 2 stamp set (2 as in there is another great stamp set with more cute otters!!!!) And the other 2 products, I'm really excited about too! They are called Magic Wheels. It is an interactive die in a circle shape that you can turn to reveal what is behind the wheel. The die is released with two coordinating stamp sets. One is the Magic Wheels 5x7 which I used in this card and has fun decorative patterns to stamp on the wheel, as well as sentiments to add on the handle or in the front or behind the wheel (I have more inspiration to share in the coming days with this amazing stamp set, so stay tuned!). The sentiment will work great for birthday cards, but not only! There is also another stamp set called Magic Wheels Florals with more sentiments and florals.
