Today, I'm sharing a fun rainfall card with the new @pearblossompress kit. If you've created rainfall cards before, you know they are a bit of work and this kit makes it so easy and much faster. First of all, it contains everything that you need in a pretty metal tin with a die that creates the rainfall thread guide for you. The kit also has a beautiful choice of seed beads with a silver lining, thread and needles, foam tape strips and detailed instructions! For the background, I used shaving foam! I had wanted to try it for a while and I thought the technique would be ideal for a sky background. I initially wanted to create a rainbow but it turned a bit too messy for the clean crafter in me. As usual with me, once the card is done, it is very hard to see the background, but IRL you do get to see swirls of blue and grey-blue. I used Speckled egg and Tumbled glass Oxide re-inkers. Those are my very first Halloween cards of the season. Yay! I am determined this year to use my Halloween newbies and, though I'm very late kicking off Halloween this year, I really hope I'll manage to play with last year's treasures as well which I did not have a chance to use, including the crazy good Craftoween box. I had fun playing with @teamspellbinders Sir Skeleton, mixing him with that skeleton hand from a couple years ago which I just love, and on the other card, I used the August stitch die of the month. I did change the eyebrows for small rectangles to make this monster mummy more scary. And I also changed Sir Skeleton's eyes just to give him a different look. Played some more with the cute kitties from @ecraftdesigns and couldn't resist making another Kali, in our happy place. Crafting started to fill my life at a time I needed to escape work. I feel a little nostalgic of those happy years I started crafting: I was in awe of the products and looking forward to new releases. Kali was by my side and very curious about my supplies, climbing on my desk while I would color.  Even if the magic of crafting is a little gone today, and Kali is no longer sharing my craftroom, cardmaking remains an essential part of my life and I am not sure I could ever drop it completely. Though, sometimes, I do wonder if I'm crafting because I want to or because I feel I have to. Whatever the reason, of all the hobbies I picked up in my life, cardmaking has always been the one that brought me the most peace, satisfaction and happiness. I made this card about 3 weeks ago, in the midst of our 5th heat wave, which was 3 past our last hottest Summers. I wasn't quite ready for Fall and Halloween cards back then, but with the Summer break way behind now, something wicked and fun coming our way is the best that could happen! So I'm kicking off Fall using the Fall gathering clear stamp from @sweetnovemberstamps which I got last year but wasn't able to use before Fall ended. For this card, I mixed some Spellbinders dies from last year with new products from Simon Says Stamps, Waffle Flower and The Greetery. I heat set the raincoat with 3 layers of clear embossing powder to give it a plastic shine and for the buttons as well as all eyes, I used Trinity Stamps embellishments. This year, I managed to make quite a few projects using my newbies before the season was over, mixing with products from past years. I realized this is what I like best as it is very satisfying to be able to use the goodies right away, but also comforting to finally use my stash. I realized I haven't made a lot of ice cream cards this Summer. This is usually a theme I like to explore. Ice cream is my excuse when the weather gets too hot, and let's face it, there have been plenty of opportunities this Summer... though watermelon has also been a good and better friend this Summer, because let's admit that ice creams are not actually refreshing (either too sweet or too rich), but they definitely taste like heaven! I made an interactive card, using a set from @janesdoodles, with a pullup feature. I realized when editing the photos that I actually did the background wrong, using the wrong side of the cloud stencil. By chance, it is fairly hidden. I put the blame on that insanely hot weather. A quick card with these cute @lesiazgharda_stamps. I even used a background I had created for another card a few weeks ago, before deciding on going with lighter colors. The dark blues seemed really appropriate for this card and I'm glad I saved that background and could use it here.
